Edmonton police say a 5-year-old boy has died after being hit by a vehicle Monday morning in northwest Edmonton.
EPS says around 10 a.m., officers responded to a report that a woman had hit a child while trying to leave the parking lot of a residential complex in the McConachie neighbourhood.
Neighbours confirmed to CityNews that it happened outside Arcadia Place on McConachie Boulevard near 62 Street.

It is believed that at the same time as the woman was leaving the parking lot, a 5-year-old was running eastbound on the sidewalk and fell.
Police say the 25-year-old driver called 9-1-1 immediately, and the 5-year-old was taken to a hospital by paramedics, where he later died.
EPS does not believe speed or alcohol was a factor, and an investigation is ongoing.
