EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 4, 2025) – With a path possible for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships, Mount St. Mary’s men’s soccer faces Rider in the regular season finale.

MOUNT UPDATE
In last Saturday’s road contest at Iona, the Mount fell to the Gaels 3-1. Luciano Schaiffini scored his second goal of the year on a counter strike with an assist from Jack Kehoe. Graham Dougald continues to lead the squad with five goals.

Sitting at 10 points in the MAAC standings, the team will need a win against Rider to have a realistic chance. They then will look to the scoreboard, and hope for no more than one win among Niagara, Manhattan, Quinnipiac, and Marist. That opens up the possibility for the Mount to snag one of the two open spots remaining.

SCOUTING THE BRONCS

Rider comes to Emmitsburg playing for pride. Four points removed from Saint Peter’s, the Broncs will finish last in the league after a rebuilding year following a regular season title in 2024. Rider shares the goal count of the Mount’s with 15. Lovro Kostanjšek has the most goals with four. Three keepers have seen time for the Broncs, led by 855 minutes and 56 saves from Marius Helias.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES

With a series dating back to 1992, Mount St. Mary’s holds a 7-6 edge over Rider. The Broncs, however, have won two of three MAAC meetings, including last year’s 3-0 decision.

LOOKING AHEAD

Should the Mountaineers advance, the first round of the MAAC Tournament begins on Sunday, November 9.
