United manager Ruben Amorim finally managed to pick up back-to-back Premier League wins last month for the first time since his arrival at Old Trafford in 2024.

The Red Devils defeated Sunderland ahead of the October international break before United faced Liverpool at Anfield and secured a sensational 2-1 victory at Anfield.

Following United’s Premier League result over Liverpool, the Red Devils signed off the month of October with a superb 4-2 win over Brighton at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils’ three-match Premier League winning run came to an end at the weekend, as Manchester United faced Nottingham Forest and secured a 2-2 draw.

United were leading Nottingham Forest in the first half after a Casemiro opener, but complacency in the backline saw Sean Dyche’s men blow the contest wide open.

Forest went 2-1 up in the first five minutes of the second half after Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona scored against United in Saturday’s Premier League clash.

Ruben Amorim snatched a point from the visit to City Ground after a stunning first-time long-range volley from Amad Diallo clinched the crucial equaliser for United.

Speaking in the aftermath of United’s encounter with Forest, Rio Ferdinand took a swipe at his Arsenal-supporting co-host with his prediction for the Red Devils.

“It’s just being realistic, which is hard for some Arsenal fans to be, which I understand,” he said on ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents.’

“But I think we’ll finish top six based on what I’m seeing right now. And I’ll be content with that, massively.”

Ruben Amorim and Man Utd could still make Rio Ferdinand’s prediction come true in the 2025-26 Premier League season

United’s recent run of form has put the Red Devils in a position where a top-six challenge could be in contention for the Premier League club this season.

The Red Devils are level on points with seventh-place Chelsea and sixth-place Tottenham, while fifth-place Bournemouth are one point ahead of United.

Sunderland are fourth and are level on points with third-place Liverpool and also Bournemouth, with a single point separating United from the Black Cats.

United will now face a tough test against Spurs on their visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon for their Premier League clash.
