Yes, it’s Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav we are talking about. The singer-actor is contesting on a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) ticket.

Before filing his nomination, Kesari Lal Yadav declared assets worth a whopping Rs 24.81 crore in his election affidavit. His financial disclosure paints a picture of how far he has come since the beginning of his journey.

According to his affidavit filed under his original name, Shatrughan Yadav, the star owns movable assets worth Rs 16.89 crore and immovable properties worth Rs 7.91 crore.

Among their assets are Rs 5 lakh in cash held by Yadav and Rs 2 lakh by his wife, gold jewellery valued at Rs 35 lakh, and a luxury Land Rover Defender car worth Rs 3 crore, purchased in 2023.

Kesari Lal Yadav grew up watching his father, Mangaru Yadav, juggle multiple jobs. He used to work as a street vendor during the day and a security guard at night.

As a child, Khesari helped out by grazing cattle and selling milk in their village. After the family moved to Delhi, they started selling litti-chokha.

The counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly Elections will take place on November 14.
