SURREY — A $2.88 billion hospital project has received a sizable donation to support the purchase of state-of-the-art technology and train hundreds of cancer care staff in the Fraser Valley.
The BC Cancer Foundation, in partnership with RBC, has announced a $1 million investment for the new BC Cancer Centre under development in Surrey.
Funding will support new equipment, including PET/CT scanners and LINACs, as well as the upskilling of over 400 workers, including more than 100 nurses and 70 oncologists.
“By investing in the people behind the care — the nurses, oncologists and researchers — we are helping build a stronger, more innovative health care system for the future,” said Martin Thibodeau, B.C. regional president with RBC.
