A Ballybofey man has admitted he was “over the moon” to pen an article to encourage men to speak about their mental health, whilst also doing his bit for charity.

Caolan Hennigan is a 24-year-old content creator who works in social media and was approached by Leon Craine and Sonder magazine to write a short piece about my own experiences regarding mental health.

“I was the moon when they told me about this campaign, as it is such an important topic to me,” he says.

“What we are trying to do is basically break some of the stigma regarding men’s mental health to encourage more men to speak out about it. There are some other great creators involved in this campaign and I urge everyone to check it out. All the proceeds will go to Pieta, it is completely non-profit. We really want to help raise awareness for men’s mental health this November and to show other men out there that they are never alone.”

Pre-order for the Sonder magazine is available until November 11. Pieta is an Irish charity that provides free, professional, and confidential services to people who are in suicidal distress, those who engage in self-harm, and those bereaved by suicide.
