The Nixon Newell AEW walkout story just got a serious twist—and now Megan Bayne is at the center of it.

According to Fightful Select, AEW sources are claiming that Bayne was visibly upset with Newell and Miranda Alize during their match on Collision. The tension wasn’t just storyline—it played out in real time because of a breakdown in communication mid-match.

“The frustration on Megan Bayne’s face during the match was legitimate as she was frustrated with what appeared to be a lack of cooperation on some of the spots,” a source said.

AEW reportedly had internal concerns about how the match was structured, especially since Bayne is being positioned as a powerhouse. Some sources were puzzled by the decision to book her in a way that had her selling offense from unsigned talent like Newell and Alize.

“Word made its way around the locker room that Newell wasn’t happy that the match was being constructed as is. One of the point of contentions was said to be Megan Bayne selling for Newell and Alize, which at that point of establishing a new, dominant team, wasn’t really a decision Megan Bayne could make on her own,” the report added.

The fallout from this backstage frustration appears to be linked to the now-infamous Collision walkout. Newell and Alize were scheduled to wrestle Tay Melo and Anna Jay but left the building after learning they were only getting three minutes. AEW had to quickly sub in Hyan and Maya World, who were praised for stepping up on short notice. Newell broke her silence shortly after reports surfaced, claiming things weren’t as they seemed.

“No we had no disagreement, Miranda and I are really the only ones that have the details about how yesterday went,” she said when contacted.

Miranda Alize hinted that there was more to come, posting “so much to say” without elaborating. Some AEW talent defended Newell, saying she was just disappointed with how her debut played out. But others noted that her energy going into the match felt off.

“Another said that it felt like Newell wanted to get the match over with because of how things went setting it up,” the report noted.

With Megan Bayne reportedly upset, and AEW left cleaning up the fallout, it’s unclear if Nixon Newell will be given another shot—or if this one match closed the door for good.
