LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Yadira Bustillos was scheduled to fight Yokasta Valle for the WBC World Title on the Jake Paul vs. Tank Davis undercard on November 14, 2025, but the fight was canceled. It is not clear why it was canceled.

Path to boxing: Yadira was introduced to boxing when her brother and uncle, who were both boxers, took her to an amateur boxing event. At first, her mother ignored her request to start boxing. Her brother began sparring with her, and she trained secretly with coach Gil Martinez before getting her family’s approval.

After seeing her dedication, her family became her biggest supporters. Her mother was initially hesitant, but now cheers her on.

Gil Martinez, her since day 1, speaks highly of her dedication and work ethic.

Bustillos holds a professional record of 11 wins and 1 loss (11-1-0) with 2 of those wins by knockout. Her knockout rate stands at approximately 18%. One of her major recent bouts was against Sarah Bormann on May 13, 2023, a challenge for the interim world minimumweight title. Bustillos lost by unanimous decision to the previously undefeated Bormann.

Bustillos went on to have a successful amateur career with a 22-2 record, winning titles like the Roy Jones Jr. National Invitational and the Golden Gloves.

Her dreams of making the Olympic team were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She decided to go professional instead and had her pro debut in 2021

From a young age, she was exposed to boxing through her uncle and brother, and attended an amateur boxing event that sparked her interest.

Yadi started her amateur career with 24 fights and an amateur record of 22–2, among her accolades: back-to-back wins of the Roy Jones Jr. National Invitational, Nevada Golden Gloves champion, California state champion, and third place in the 2019 Olympic qualifiers (ranked #6 nationally).

Her educational background also features prominently: she graduated from West Preparatory Academy on May 28, 2019, with an advanced diploma and a 3.0 GPA, and she has expressed interest in furthering her education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
