John Cena has revealed he made “one last request” on his ongoing retirement tour.
John Cena made his final appearance as a wrestler in his hometown of Boston on the November 10, 2025, episode of RAW. The night turned out to be a memorable one for fans as the 17-time WWE Champion captured the one title that had evaded him throughout his career when he defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the Intercontinental Championship, and became a grand slam champion in the process.
With only three more appearances left in his retirement tour, John Cena has revealed that he made one last request to WWE. Speaking to the Boston Herald, the new Intercontinental Champion said that he told WWE that he wanted to come to Boston one last time before hanging up his boots.
“I had one last request,” said Cena, who plans to wrestle his final match on Dec. 13. “I wanted to come to Boston one last time.
“We’ve been to Brussels, we’ve been to London, we went to Perth – I just wanted to come to Boston,” said Cena, rattling off his travel itinerary over the past six months. “I saw my first WWF show in the old Garden, and it means everything to me to stand in TD Garden and feel the magic in the air.”
John Cena Reflected On His Final Boston Appearance
WWE granted John Cena’s request with the recent episode of RAW, and following his last appearance in his hometown, Cena took to X/Twitter to thank Boston for the support they gave him throughout his career. He posted:
“Thank you Boston. It meant so much to be able, for one last time, to be allowed an opportunity to do what I love, in a place I love, surrounded by those I love. Our performances are only meaningful if YOU the audience invest in us and decide they are. The smile on my face and awe in my eyes in this small clip is an honest show of grateful disbelief & appreciation for all you’ve ever invested in me. Last night meant more than I can ever express. Thank you Boston,”
