Nov. 12 (UPI) — A series of job, economic and inflation reports not published during the U.S. government shutdown may not ever be publicly released, the White House said Wednesday.
The Trump administration said its unlikely that Consumer Price Index and federal jobs reports slated to be released for October will be published after the end of the federal government shutdown.
The shutdown may have “permanently damaged the federal statistical system, with October CPI and jobs reports likely never being released,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics did not release its expected CPI and jobs data largely because of staff furloughed as a direct result of the shutdown.
Leavitt pointed the finger at the minority Democrats for the lack of data.
“And all of that economic data released will be permanently impaired, leaving our policymakers at the Fed flying blinds at a critical period,” Leavitt, said.
