WNBA star Sophie Cunningham might be a dab hand from range on the basketball court, but those skills don’t appear to translate to golf.
Cunningham, 29, swapped the court for the course on Wednesday as she attended the Annika LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam’s tournament at the Pelican Club in Florida.

The Indiana Fever guard had been serving as Caitlin Clark‘s caddie for the event before she got the chance to swing a golf club at the 10th tee box.
However, things did not quite go to plan for her.
Cunningham was heard yelling “Happy Gilmore” as she let rip.
But just like in the films, spectators were not safe from the trajectory of the ball.

CUNNING MOVE
Sophie Cunningham teases major new job move to host GMA after WNBA career
Her shot went wayward and appeared to land somewhere in the crowd.
And one fan was left on the floor when the ball finally came to rest.
Fortunately the fan was poking fun at the errant shot rather than actually being hit.
Clark saw the fan laying on the floor and was seen laughing before saying: “Man down, he’s down.”
The comment was directed towards Cunningham, who then sprinted over to check on the ‘stricken’ fan.
A video of the ‘horror incident’ saw her going into the crowd and hugging the fan.
To make further amends Cunningham gave the fan the golf ball and even took a photo with him.
Reacting on social media, fans were loving the fun interaction.
One fan said: “Soph is so awesome.”
A second said: “Happy Gilmore Girl.”
