SEOUL, Nov. 12 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics is set to launch its first dual-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z Trifold, next month, marking a new step in the evolution of foldable devices.
According to industry sources, Samsung will hold an official launch event on December 5 to introduce the Trifold and begin domestic sales. The model, which folds twice instead of once like the existing Fold series, expands to roughly 10 inches when fully opened but maintains the portability of a standard smartphone when folded.
Samsung plans to debut the Trifold first in key Asian markets, including South Korea, China, Singapore, and Dubai. The phone’s price is expected to range between 3.8 million and 4 million won (US$2,750–2,900), reflecting its complex hinge design and additional display components.
By comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, released in July 2025, was priced at 2.38 million won for the 256GB model and 2.54 million won for the 512GB version.

Initial production is reportedly limited to around 20,000 to 30,000 units. Analysts say the high price point will likely make the device a showcase of Samsung’s display engineering rather than a major sales driver.
Samsung offered a first glimpse of the Trifold earlier this month at the APEC CEO Summit in Gyeongju, positioning it as a technological statement piece that underscores the company’s continued leadership in foldable display innovation.
