Week 8 wraps up with a catfight between the 4-2 Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the 3-4 BC Lions.

With both teams boasting premier quarterbacks and a litany of offensive weapons, my Tiger-Cats vs. Lions predictions expect a high-scoring affair at BC Place.

Let’s dive into my CFL picks for Sunday, July 27, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. ET on TSN.
Tiger-Cats vs Lions prediction

My Tiger-Cats vs Lions pick: Over 55.5 (-110 at BET99)

Despite a 3-4 record, the BC Lions’ offense remains one of the most potent in the CFL.

Running back James Butler entered Week 8 as the league leader in rushing yards, and quarterback Nathan Rourke continues to stuff the stat sheet by spreading the ball around to a deep receiving corps that includes Keion Hatcher, Justin McInnis, and Stanley Berryhill III.

However, BC’s defense was torched in their latest 33-27 home loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, surrendering 504 yards of net offence and allowing Trevor Harris to complete 23-of-30 passing attempts (76%).

A similar pattern will follow when they match up against Bo Levi Mitchell and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Mitchell is averaging 302.0 passing yards per game, while wideout Kenny Lawler leads the league with 644 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

The Mitchell-to-Lawler connection has been virtually unstoppable in their first season together, and with starting halfback Jalen Edwards-Cooper listed as questionable, the Lions’ young secondary will be vulnerable through the air. Entering Week 8, only Toronto has yielded more passing plays of 30+ yards, with BC getting burned for 15.

Both teams are conceding at least 25.0 points per game this season, and it’s going to take more than a two-possession lead to feel comfortable on Sunday.
