The Los Angeles Kings defenceman was forced to exit on Saturday after taking a shot off his foot against the Ottawa Senators.

Doughty was jostling for position in front of the Kings’ net mid-way through the second period when a point shot from Tyler Klevin clipped the blueliner’s foot/ankle area.

The two-time Stanley Cup champion was down on the ice in visible pain for a few moments before making his way back to the locker room.

Doughty was eventually ruled out for the remainder of Saturday’s contest due to a lower-body injury, the Kings announced before the start of the third period.

Following the 1-0 win, Doughty was seen in a walking boot while leaving the arena. Head coach Jim Hiller said they wouldn’t know more about the injury until Sunday.

Doughty left the game with two blocked shots and one shot on goal through 11:44 of ice time.

The 35-year-old entered the night with two goals and six assists, and was a plus-six through 18 games in his 18th NHL season.
