The U17 World Cup adventure continues for Italy, and consequently for two young Empoli talents, Alessio Baralla and Thomas Campaniello. In the round of 32, Italy defeated the Czech Republic 2-0, thus qualifying for the round of 16, where they will face Uzbekistan tomorrow at 1:30 PM, after they eliminated Croatia on penalties. Against the Czech Republic, Baralla came on in the 68th minute with the score at 1-0, while Campaniello was on the bench for the entire 90 minutes. Bohdan Popov (substituted in the 74th minute) also scored for Ukraine U19 in their second match of the first round of European Championship qualifiers. The Italian striker scored the second of three goals as Ukraine defeated Montenegro. Tomorrow, the final match will be against Slovakia at 3 PM in Rrogozhyn, Albania. Slovakia drew 0-0 with Albania, featuring Azzurrini Oliver Blini and Mattia Huqi, both starters, with the former coming off in the 89th minute. Tomorrow at 2:00 PM they host Montenegro. Matteo Egan also missed the match in the Under-19 European Qualifiers, which Ireland won 1-0 against Cyprus. Tomorrow at 7:00 PM in Oldenzaal they close out the group stage against the hosts, the Netherlands.
