NanaimoNewsNOW reached out to Toys “R” Us Canada last week for further information, but has not received a response.

Woodgrove Centre also did not respond to an inquiry about what usage could be next for the large retail space.
Toys “R” Us had roughly 80 locations when it was acquired in 2018, however, numerous closures have been made in recent years, including this year in Saanich, Kamloops and Kelowna.
Langley is the only other Toys “R” Us location operating in the province.
The closure marks the second large big-box store at Woodgrove Centre to shut down this year, after Hudson’s Bay had most of its 88 stores liquidated.
