Paula Badosa has announced her breakup with fellow tennis pro Stefanos Tsitsipas through a social media update.

The 28-year-old started dating the Greek ace in May 2023 and swiftly became one of tennis‘ most talked-about romances. The duo was widely regarded as the sport’s premier power couple.

But after months of speculation, the relationship has ended, with reports indicating the breakup occurred after this summer’s Wimbledon tournament. Both competitors exited the competition in the opening round.

Following the breakup, they stopped following each other on social platforms and removed numerous photos of themselves together.

The Spanish star has now publicly acknowledged the split in a recent social media post celebrating her 28th birthday.

Badosa was photographed wearing banners reading “sexy and single” and “28 and still a 10.”

Posting images from the celebration on Instagram, she captioned: “Chapter 28, here we go! Heart full…Thank you to the ones who made it so special.”

Badosa, who has 1.3 million Instagram followers, regularly posts snapshots of her glamorous life off the court.

Currently sidelined by an injury that concluded her season in September, Badosa also discussed how this has affected her mental well-being.

“Sometimes life shakes us so hard that we think we won’t be able to get up,” she said.

“We go through moments when the soul breaks in silence, where doubts weigh more than hope, and where the inner noise lets nothing be heard. But it’s right there, in that void, where something sacred begins: the reunion with oneself.

“Healing isn’t forgetting or pretending it didn’t hurt. Healing is looking at yourself with compassion, recognizing your wounds and understanding that everything you experienced was a necessary part of the journey.

“It is discovering that peace is not in what you have, or in who accompanies you, but in the simple fact of being able to breathe calmly with yourself.”
