ORLANDO, Fla. –
Baylor women’s tennis’ Na Dong and Zuzanna Kubacha competed in the NCAA Individual singles competition on Tuesday at the UTSA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.Â

Both Dong and Kubacha advanced into the Round of 32 on Tuesday, with Dong upsetting the No. 1 seed during the first day of the tournament.

THE RUNDOWN
Junior Kubacha was the first Bear to hit the court against Duke’s Liv Hovde. Kubacha battled in a close first set but ultimately won 7-5. Entering set two with the advantage, Kubacha won the set and match 7-5, 6-4.Â

On Court 12, Dong faced Stanford’s No. 1-seeded Valerie Glozman. Dong claimed the first set 6-3. In a very back-and-forth second set, Dong fell to Glozman in the tiebreaker, forcing a third set. In the third set, Dong upset Glozman and won the match 6-3, 6-7 (1), 6-4.Â

WHAT’S NEXT
The second day of singles competition and the first day of doubles competition are on Tuesday, Nov. 19.Â

Dong and Kubacha team up in doubles action against Ole Miss’ Andrea Nova and Emily Welker. First serve is set for 5 p.m. CT. Â

Dong faces North Carolina State’s Gabriella Broadfoot at 9 a.m. CT, while Kubacha takes on Michigan’s No. 3-seeded Piper Charney at 10:15 a.m. CT, in the round of 32.Â
