The Toronto Argonauts have re-signed a pair of Canadians linebackers Ryder Varga and Jordan Herdman-Reed.

Varga came to Toronto last off-season in a trade with the B.C. Lions and went on to play 13 games in 2025, registering 10 special teams tackles.

The Regina native played 18 games with BC in 2024, tallying 73 defensive tackles, five special teams tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery, and four knockdowns.

The 2022 third round pick (29th overall) returned to school in his draft year, before making his debut in 2023, suiting up in all 18 games for the Lions. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound backer recorded nine defensive tackles, 13 special teams tackles, and one sack.

Herdman-Reed signed with Toronto in July, playing in seven games and tallying five special teams tackles. The seven-year CFL veteran played 13 games for Saskatchewan in 2024, tallying eight special teams tackles.

The six-foot, 235-pound defender was also a B.C. draft pick back in 2017 (60th overall) where he spent the first three seasons of his career. The Simon Fraser alum has notched 96 defensive tackles, 73 special teams tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble across 98 career games.
