Bris-O Promotions has officially launched what is set to become one of the marquee events on the regional boxing calendar, unveiling the newly-formed Caribbean Boxing Organisation’s (CBO) first-ever Boxing Day fight card during a press conference yesterday at the Windjammer Hotel, Kitty. The December 26 event, slated for the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, promises a powerful blend of professional and amateur talent from Guyana and across the Caribbean, marking a significant revival of an old Guyanese sporting tradition.

CBO Executive Seon Bristol announced the return of the Boxing Day card, once a cherished fixture in Guyanese culture, emphasising that the initiative aims to restore the vibrancy of the sport locally and regionally. “We will have a Boxing Day card in Guyana. December 26 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, bringing a return to traditions of years gone by,” Bristol said, noting that the CBO’s intent has always been to showcase the Caribbean as a unified boxing community. Both the professional and amateur associations in Guyana have endorsed the venture.
