A WWE star has returned to in-ring action for the first time in over a year after recovering from a long-term injury absence.
In October 2024, Malik Blade suffered a torn ACL injury that ruled him out of action for an extended period of time.
During his absence, his former tag team partner Edris Enofe pursued a singles career on Evolve but later requested and was granted his release from WWE.
In September, Blade made an appearance in front of fans at the Performance Center before a live NXT broadcast for the first time since his injury.
Today, November 21, he made his in-ring return as he competed in a match at tonight’s live event in Bartow.
Blade suffered a loss to Cyril Coquerelle, who was formerly known as Aigle Blanc before signing with WWE recently.
After the match, Coquerelle offered respect to Blade, but Blade refused and left in frustration, potentially hinting that he could be a heel upon his return.
He has yet to appear on TV since he suffered the injury or returned to making appearances, and with Enofe no longer around, he’ll need some kind of new direction.
Blade signed with WWE in 2021 and debuted during the NXT 2.0 era when he formed the team alongside Enofe.
He was originally trained by D-Von Dudley.
