Event raises money for Holmberg House to continue to provide free care for Abbotsford residents

Friday (July 25) marked a milestone day in a milestone year for the Abbotsford Hospice and Grief Support Society’s Holmberg Memorial Golf Classic Tournament.

The event, which occurred at Ledgeview Golf Club, celebrated its 10th anniversary and 2025 also marks the 40th anniversary of Abbotsford Hospice.

This year’s event was a sell-out and organizers said it was a memorable evening.

“It was a special day, during a special year, surrounded by extraordinary people,” stated Andrea Critchley. the executive director of Abbotsford Hospice.

She said the dinner program was also special, with heartfelt moments, community connection, and a powerful fundraising atmosphere. Critchley praised auctioneer Curtis Braun for his work helping to raise funds.

“This event would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our sponsors,” she added. “Their continued support allows us to do meaningful work in our community, and we thank each and every one of them for standing beside us. We are also immensely thankful for the dedicated volunteers who made the day run seamlessly – your energy and commitment did not go unnoticed. From golf to giving, celebration to reflection, the 10th annual tournament was one to remember. We’re already looking forward to next year and the continued impact we can make – together.”

The event was created to honour the memory of Dave and Lee Holmberg, Dave Holmberg Jr. and Nicholas Holmberg. Along with 10 patient suites, Holmberg House accommodates groups for all ages, volunteer training, education seminars, and one-on-one support services. These services are offered at no cost to Abbotsford residents and their families.
