The Toronto Blue Jays are bolstering their infield depth with the signing of Rodolfo Castro.

7 News Boston’s Ari Alexander reports the team has signed the 26-year-old utility player to a minor-league deal with an invite to spring training.

A native of Los Llanos, Dominican Republic, Castro spent 2025 with the Philadelphia Phillies’ Triple-A affiliates, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. He batted .235 with 72 hits, 19 home runs, 82 runs batted in and an OPS of .745 in 456 at-bats over 133 games. Castro is currently playing for Estrellas of the Dominican Winter League.

He has 194 games of big league experience over three seasons from 2021 to 2023 with the Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates. In the majors, Castro is .219 hitter with 124 hits, 22 home runs, 59 runs batted in and a .672 OPS over 566 at-bats.

The Blue Jays open their spring training schedule on Feb. 21 against the Phillies.
