Sophie Cunningham gives her reasoning behind joining Project B

With the names of the WNBA stars joining Project B, it’s pretty much clear that Sophie Cunningham won’t be the last one. With the big announcement, the league also released a statement from the Indiana Fever player on why she decided to join the league.

“In women’s basketball. Our game is exploding in popularity, and I’m all in on carrying that momentum forward in any way I can. Both at home in the us and beyond.”

The upcoming league also released a video of Sophie Cunningham opening up about her new journey.

“I am so thrilled for [Project B], it is giving women’s basketball a platform that is much deserving; not only here in the United States, but across the world. So come on this journey with us!”

Cunningham also reacted to an Instagram post by Project B with two fire emojis.

Earlier this month, Sophie Cunningham told Front Office Sports that she was open to the idea of playing in Project B if it was giving “multi-million dollar deals” to her. She has also previously stated that she wanted to buy a house for herself, and with the new league giving at least $2 million deals, it wasn’t hard to expect Cunningham joining them.
