The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American offensive lineman Darius Washington and Canadian defensive lineman Liam Hoskins.
Washington made four starts for the Green and White in 2025, including two at left tackle, one at right tackle, and one at left guard. He finished the season on the practice roster, immediately making him a free agent.
The six-foot-three, 322-pound blocker attended rookie minicamp with the Denver Broncos after going unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft. He reportedly ran a 5.43-second forty-yard dash at his pro day along with a 24.5-inch vertical jump and 16 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
The native of Pensacola, Fla. played 57 collegiate games at Florida State University where he made 33 starts at left tackle, 11 starts at right tackle, and three starts at centre. He was named first-team All-ACC in 2023.
Hoskins was Saskatchewan’s fifth-round pick in the 2025 CFL Draft out of the University of Windsor. The six-foot-two, 240-pound native of London, Ont. returned to school for his final year of U Sports eligibility and finished his tenure with the Lancers with 126 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, three interceptions, seven pass deflections, and one fumble recovery over 44 collegiate games.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders finished first in the West Division standings in 2025 with a 12-6 record, finishing first in the West Division for the first time since 2019. The team went on to defeat the Montreal Alouettes in the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg, marking the team’s first championship in 12 years. Trevor Harris went 11-5 as a starter, throwing for 4,549 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
The Roughriders ranked second in net offence, second in net defence, and tied for third with a turnover differential of plus-eight. The club’s leading rusher was A.J. Ouellette with 1,222 yards, leading receiver was KeeSean Johnson with 1,159 yards, and leading tackler was A.J. Allen with 91 tackles. Saskatchewan finished second in attendance with average crowds of 28,427, which was a 2.7 percent increase from the previous year.
