The first trailer has landed for Glen Powell’s new thriller How to Make a Killing. Powell takes the lead in this dark comedy which centres on the heir to a massive fortune who just needs to do some ‘pruning of his family tree’ before he can become extraordinarily wealthy.
Written and directed by John Patton Ford, the film is inspired by the 1949 Ealing Studios release Kind Hearts and Coronets, which starred Alec Guinness.
Alongside Powell, How to Make a Killing also stars Margaret Qualley as well as Jessica Henwick, Zach Woods, Topher Grace, Bill Camp and Ed Harris.
As the trailer shows, the film sees Powell as Becket Redfellow, a man whose mother was disowned by her wealthy family but she still promised her son a fortune.

As we see one family member take a plunge into some deep waters, it becomes clear that Becket is willing to do anything to get his hands on the money.
However, Becket soon learns there’s no such thing as easy money and it’s not long before he makes himself a target.

Meanwhile, Powell can currently be seen in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man, based on Stephen King’s 1982 novel of the same name which was first adapted for the big screen in 1987.
