Jamie Lee Curtis’s distinct pixie cut has been her calling card for decades, with the Freakier Friday actress first debuting her signature cropped cut after a “bad perm” gone wrong in the ‘80s. Nowadays, Curtis has gone “full ice queen” with a silvery hue and edgy layers—but she had fans doing a double take as she unveiled a beauty 180 for an upcoming role. In new promo photos for Scarpetta, Curtis looked unrecognizable as she unveiled a dramatic blonde curly style paired with an ultra-plunging crimson jumpsuit.
The Scream Queens alum, who’ll be co-starring and producing alongside Nicole Kidman, went full beauty chameleon as she showed off a side-parted honey-blonde haircut. In a photo shared by Prime Video’s Instagram account on Tuesday, November 25, Curtis showed off a “first look” at Dorothy Scarpetta in the upcoming adaptation of the Patricia Cornwell novels. The True Lies alum could be seen sitting next to Kidman (who’ll be playing younger sister Kay Scarpetta) while showing off her brightly-hued bombshell lob, which grazed her bare shoulders.

Wearing a pair of oversized wire-rimmed glasses as she sat in the audience with Kidman, Curtis hinted at her character’s bold personality by wearing an ultra-plunging bright red satin jumpsuit with scalloped detailing running down the neckline, long sleeves, and wide-legged pants. She affectionately held hands with the Big Little Lies actress, who showed off side-parted auburn curls worn in a half-up style. Kidman contrasted her on-screen big sister’s flamboyant style with a dark green silk turtleneck dress and a matching blazer.

Kidman, who’ll star in the crime thriller as a forensic pathologist, looked equally unrecognizable with glasses, minimal glam, and a white lab coat. She swapped her platinum blonde hair for a red color more similar to her natural hue, and styled her strawberry blonde curls in a side-parted updo with face-framing tendrils as she examined a body and looked for clues in outtakes from the highly-anticipated series. Amazon Prime revealed that Scarpetta will be coming to the platform on March 11, giving fans just a few months before they can see both Curtis and Kidman’s silver screen transformations in action.
