Today’s episode of The Young and the Restless is a classic that originally aired on November 16, 1990 and brings high emotion on two fronts as Nikki struggles with a risky medical choice while Danny and Cricket prepare for their dream wedding in Hawaii. Victor presses Nikki for answers she refuses to give, and Jack steps up in ways she needs most, while love takes center stage as the long awaited ceremony begins.

Jack is worried about Nikki and the pain she’s in.
Nikki doesn’t want to live with the pain, but she’s scared she’ll be paralyzed by the surgery.

Jack agrees. They have to weigh their options and figure out what to do.
The doorbell rings. It’s Victor, who asks to talk to Nikki.
Nikki invites him in, but the phone rings. It’s for Jack, and she tells him to take the call upstairs. It’s business from Australia. Jack heads upstairs to take the call, and Nikki asks what Victor is there for.

Victor says he has some decisions to make. He asks if she’s alright; she looks like she’s been crying. Nikki denies it, and Victor says he’s there to confirm their plans for the holidays with the children.
Nikki doesn’t want to talk about it tonight. It’s been a hectic week, and she’s got a lot on her mind.
Victor wonders if there’s a problem with her marriage.

Nikki says she and Jack are fine. There’s nothing wrong with her marriage!
Victor thought it would be nice if they could spend some time together over the holidays.
Nikki is surprised. He wants to have Ashley, Jack, and the children there, too?
CBS
Victor nods. Just a couple of days.
Jack watches from the bottom of the stairs.
Nikki says she’ll call him and they’ll come up with a plan.
Victor agrees and leaves.

Leanna’s Hotel Room
Leanna makes a call as Rex gets dressed. She’s looking for her luggage and gets angry when the airline agent can’t help her. She ends the call and complains that she doesn’t have the dress she wants to wear.

Rex gets her to help him with his bowtie. She leaves it crooked and says it’s perfect. Rex is the best man, and needs to get to the ceremony ASAP.
Leanna tells him to get to the wedding… She’ll be there, but hopefully not dressed in a sarong!
Rex laughs. “What’s so wrong with a sarong?” He leaves the room.

There’s a knock at the door. It’s a huge black man who calls himself “Jumbo Man”, asking for Leanna Love. He says she took his suitcase… Is this hers? He holds up a suitcase.
Leanna says that is her suitcase and tells him she has his bag. She invites him inside and asks him to give her her suitcase.
CBS
The man wants to check his suitcase first. He has some very important stuff inside! He looks in the suitcase and finds a green satin robe, embroidered with rhinestones spelling out “Jumbo Man”. He’s very proud of it, puts it on, and struts around. He tells Leanna that he’ll leave tickets for his match tonight. He leaves.
Leanna laughs. “This is Hawaii… Are we having fun yet?” She opens her suitcase and finds the dress she was looking for. “Thank God!”

The Wedding Venue
Outside the church, Christine’s half-brother, Scott Grainger, escorts her out of the limo.
CBS
Cricket is excited… Danny chose the perfect place to get married!
CBS
They head inside, and Cricket gushes that she thinks this marriage will be forever.
Scott agrees. If ever a couple was meant to be, it’s her and Danny!
Cricket wishes her mom could be there. She remembers talking with her mom in the hospital just before she died about getting married. She can feel her mom’s presence, and she brought a picture of her with her.

Scott smiles. He tells her to take a minute while he looks around.
Cricket looks at her mom’s picture. “It’s happening, mom, the day you dreamed about and hoped to see! I wish you were here with me!” She knows that Danny is the one that her mother knew would always come along for her, and today is the happiest day of her life!

Nina and Scott come over, and Nina says she has the ring… Is Cricket ready?
Cricket smiles with tears in her eyes. “I’m ready.”
Outside the Church
Gina tells Danny that he and Cricket are lucky to have each other.
CBS
Danny grins. He knows it! He asks his dad if he has the ring, and is reassured that he does.
The reverend shows up with the band, and they get themselves prepared.
Leanna runs up, gasping. She’s happy she made it in time!

Danny looks a bit awkward as he tries to avoid Leanna’s gaze.

The Newman House
Victor comes home and kisses Ashley.
CBS
Ashley throws her arms around him and asks if he made plans with Nikki for the holidays.
Victor shrugs. It wasn’t a very fruitful visit.
Ashley figures Jack must have been there.
CBS
Victor nods. Jack wasn’t the problem, though… Nikki seemed to have been crying.
Ashley tells Victor that Nikki is his former wife. She and Jack need to handle this themselves. Victor needs to cut the cord; he’s not responsible for her anymore! She wants to have Victor to herself tonight… She doesn’t want him thinking of anyone else! She kisses him deeply.

Victor laughs. He has a wonderful idea… They should go upstairs and have a shower together!
Ashley thinks that’s a great idea.

The Abbott House
Jack asks Nikki if Victor upset her. Did she tell him anything about her physical situation?
CBS
Nikki didn’t want Victor to know. This is a decision she needs to make with her husband, not her former husband! She doesn’t want Victor involved in this at all!
Jack kisses her and hugs her comfortingly. They sit down, and Jack asks what Victor wanted from her.
Nikki says Victor wanted to talk about handling the holidays with the children.

Jack says they’ll handle it by having a wonderful Christmas as a family. There will be a huge Christmas tree, carols on the radio, and cookies in the oven!
Nikki smiles. Sounds like they’ll have a perfect Christmas if Jack has his way! She’s looking forward to the holidays, but she wishes that she could be sure what the season holds for her.
Jack tells her that no matter what she decides, he’ll be right beside her. They kiss.

Outside the Church
Cricket walks up the aisle on Scott’s arm, smiling. She takes Danny’s hand, and the priest begins the ceremony.
CBS
Danny and Cricket gaze lovingly into one another’s eyes.
They say their solemn vows. “I will.”
Danny places the ring on her finger. “As a symbol of my promise, I give you this ring.”
CBS
Cricket says she’ll be there in sickness and in health, and will cherish him forever.
The priest pronounces them husband and wife.
They kiss, and happy tears are shed.
Everyone applauds and hugs.

Nighttime on the Beach
Danny and Cricket kiss. Rex, Gina, Scott, Leanna, Nina, and David Kimball congratulate them.
CBS
Rex proposes a toast, and everyone raises their glasses. “Let the festivities begin!”
Hula dancers come out and dance around as everyone celebrates.
