With a mission to encourage, develop and promote social and competitive tennis in the community of Surrey, there was plenty to celebrate and honor at this year’s gala. Specifically, the Surrey Open, a successful Tennis Tournament held by the club over the Summer at Newton Athletic Park which attracted young athletes from all around.
Through flagship events like these, the club aims to inspire greater youth participation in Surrey, supported by initiatives such as the Young Aces Program. This program offers tennis coaching for players of all levels; beginner, intermediate, and advanced training is delivered by certified coaches at the club’s facilities. Running from April to October, it serves youth ages 6 to 17.
MLA Garry Begg and MLA Amna Shah were honored for their support for the club and were seen honoring Newton Club organizers like Gurmukh Jhutty.
