Bon appétit! Katy Perry was swaggering about in a garish new hat. She seemed to say “Look at me, Instagram, I’ve got a new hat.” The hat in question was a full Thanksgiving feast, made of what looks like Sculpey. You’ve got a well-brined bird, cranberry sauce, decorative gourds. The works, in other words. Perry captioned her Reel “Hatty Thanksgiving.” This hat is great for Perry, because she can wear it next year for two Thanksgivings if she’s still with Justin Trudeau. Happy extremely belated Canadian Thanksgiving, everyone.

The same week as Perry’s new hat, the New York Post reported on the singer’s latest volley in an ongoing legal battle with a “dying veteran” over real estate in Montecito. Perry and then-husband Orlando Bloom purchased a home there from Carl Westcott. Westcott tried to back out of the deal, claiming he didn’t have capacity to enter legal contract while on pain medication for back surgery. The court found in the Perry-Blooms’ favor in December 2023. Perry then countersued for $3.25 million for repairs, legal feels, and missed rental income. By then, Westcott was “bedridden and living with Huntington’s disease,” per the Post. Perry is suing again, seeking $5 million in damages. At least this suit isn’t against nuns.
