The message is a visual identifier for the urgent support available to anyone in crisis in the borough when they don’t know where to turn.
Window stickers with the Get Help Now branding are appearing in shops, cafes and community venues across the borough.
They are aimed particularly at those suffering a mental health crisis or having issues with substance use, addiction and gambling.
The eye-catching Get Help Now stickers have a QR code that takes people to the Be Well BwD website with details of all the support available to them locally and nationally, with a particular focus on the support that’s available outside of office hours.
Blackburn with Darwen public health boss, Cllr Damian Talbot, said: “We’re entering a time of year that can be very difficult for some people.
“These bright orange stickers are going up to remind people that no one needs to struggle in silence, as there is always help available in Blackburn with Darwen to those who need it.
“Whether someone is experiencing a mental health crisis, having issues with substance use, or gambling that’s severely affecting their health, or problems with addiction, help is there.
“By scanning the Get Help Now QR code, they can find the right support for them.
“Get Help Now was developed by our public health team as part of their work to prevent death by suicide.
“By supporting people to have conversations around suicidal thoughts and helping remove the stigma, we can potentially save lives.
“We can all have times where we are facing a range of life’s challenges. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming but it’s important to remember there is always help available.”
