The votes are in! AHS Nursing Care members have ratified their tentative agreement.
71 per cent of members participated in the vote. Members working for AHS and the pillars voted 63.3 per cent in favour of the agreement. Members at Allen Grey voted 95 per cent in favour. The exception is Lamont Health Care Centre, which conducted a separate ratification vote. Nursing Care members at this site did not vote in favour of the agreement, and will return to the bargaining table.
This agreement raises the bar for collective agreements in the health care sector, as well as the rest of the public sector.
We achieved serious raises, including retroactive market adjustments, because of your dedication and solidarity. Members should be proud their determination and willingness to fight for what they deserve.Â
This same solidarity will serve us well when we begin bargaining again in two years. There is still progress to be made, especially when it comes to scheduling and our expanded scope of practice.Â
Your negotiating team wishes to thank you for the support you have shown over the last 20 months of bargaining. We could not do it without you.
We will share more details about next steps and implementation very soon.
Please contact a member of your negotiating team if you have questions.
