Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) has introduced a refreshed DuitNow QR standee design that is being deployed across the country.

The update is intended to improve the visibility and consistency of Malaysia’s single national QR standard at merchant locations, making the payment experience more seamless and intuitive for both consumers and businesses.

The change is visual only. DuitNow QR continues to function as before with no adjustments to its security features or interoperability across participating banks and e-wallets.

Consumers can keep paying as usual and merchants can continue accepting payments through a single QR code.

Different standee designs had appeared over the years as banks and e-wallets issued their own versions, which sometimes created uncertainty at checkout.

The revised design standardises how DuitNow QR is presented so customers can clearly identify Malaysia’s official QR payment option.

The refreshed standee is also a cleaner and more uniform way for businesses to show they accept DuitNow QR.

Banks began introducing the new standee in October 2025.

RHB Bank, Bank Islam, MBSB Bank and Agrobank were among the first to roll it out.

CIMB, Public Bank, Hong Leong Bank, AmBank, Bank Simpanan Nasional and Bank Muamalat are preparing to follow, with other institutions expected to join later.

The rollout is gradual to allow a smooth transition as acquirers distribute the updated display, and businesses are encouraged to adopt it once available.

“As digital payments become second nature for Malaysians, the trust and clarity of what people are scanning matters more than ever.

The refreshed DuitNow QR standee brings greater consistency and visibility across the country, ensuring consumers always know they are paying through Malaysia’s official and secure QR standard, while making it simpler for merchants to display and accept payments through just one QR code.”
