It is with
the heaviest of hearts we regretfully announce that our father, and
hero, François Lepage, passed away surrounded by love
Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of
83.
François was born in Whites Brook, New
Brunswick, to Bonaventure and Hedwidge Lepage. He later made his home
in Havre Boucher, Nova Scotia, where he built a beautiful life and
raised our family, with his devoted wife, our mom Yolanda. Married on
October 2, 1976, their union was the cornerstone of his life and the
source of his greatest joy.
After
Yolanda’s passing in 2023, François spent his
final years at The Maples Residence in Antigonish. There he found
comfort in the company of family and enjoyed socializing with his
friends during the musical events held at The
Maples.
A man of
quiet strength, gentle heart, and unwavering devotion, he
spent his entire life working hard to provide the best upbringing for
his family. François dedicated more than 30 years of his
professional life to Nova Construction/Martin Marietta Materials.
Starting as a manual labourer, he rose through the ranks to become
Maintenance Foreman, a testament to his innate skill and work ethic.
He was truly a jack of all trades—if it was broken, he could
fix it, and if someone had a plan, he could always build it better
than imagined.
In his
downtime time, François was content with the simple
pleasures of life: taking leisurely strolls, enjoying peaceful swings
on the deck, and cherishing time spent with family and
friends.
His devotion
to his family was always apparent in his deep love for his wife and
his four daughters. He was immensely proud of their accomplishments,
offering support and guidance well into their adult
years.
François’s greatest pride and joy was his
family, by whom he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his four
daughters Natasha (Jason), Felicia, Erin (Chris) and Tara (Chris) who
will continue to carry on his legacy and qualities of leadership,
strength, fierce independence, and maybe a little
stubbornness.
He was a
devoted Grampy and Papa to his grandchildren Logan, Braydon, Tyler,
Lauren, Riley, Luke, Jake, and great-granddaughter, Scarlett
Rose.
He is also
survived by his siblings: Francoise (Keith), Lucienne (Pierre),
Monique (Roland), Maryse (Romeo), Bert (Lynn), Gabrielle, Gaetan
(Sylvie), and Johanne (Robert), as well as Yolanda’s
siblings who became like his own: Jimmy (Dorthey), Denise, Gary
(Debbie), Ronnie (Leisa), Wally ( Michelle), Susan (Danny) and so, so
many nieces, and nephews.
François was predeceased by his loving
wife, Yolanda; his parents, Bonaventure and Hedwidge Lepage; siblings
Marcel, Gisele, and Lucien, as well as Yolanda’s parents,
Alphonse and Martha Brow; and brother-in-law, Leon
Brow.
He leaves
behind a legacy defined by integrity, dedication, ingenuity, and
fortitude, which is ever present in his daughters and
grandchildren.
Dad will be
immensely missed by all who knew him, but especially by us four girls
and our children. We love you dad; you were the absolute best
and an amazing source of strength and presence in our lives.
It was our honor to be raise by you.
At the
family’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has
taken place. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December
4thh at 11:00 am at St.
Paul’s Church, Havre Boucher, with Father Alan MacPhie
presiding.
Memorial
donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation and Arthritis
Centre at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, as dad was a
long-time recipient of their care following his industrial accident in
1983.
Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of C.L. Curry Funeral Home,
