A professional MMA fighter was ordered held on $15,000 cash bail Sunday after he was accused of the June assault of a woman and a 68-year-old man.

Joseph Quichocho Taimanglo, also known as Baby Joe, 41, was charged Sunday with two counts of aggravated assault as a third-degree felony.

If found guilty, he faces 10 years in prison.

On June 28, police were called to Tamuning, where they met with a woman who was bleeding from the mouth. She said she was struck in the face three times by Taimanglo, according to the complaint.

Police noted that the woman, who said she lost consciousness for several seconds as a result of the assault, was having trouble speaking because of the severity of her injuries.

The 68-year-old man told police he decided to intervene when he saw the woman being assaulted by Taimanglo. He was punched in the face several times and had a cut between his eyebrows, the complaint stated.

According to documents supplied by the Office of the Attorney General, Taimanglo has a previous conviction for felony drug possession and pending charges for felony terrorizing, misdemeanor assault and felony drug possession.
