The unexpected war of words between Michael Bublé and NHL insider Frank Seravalli has taken another turn.

The Canadian singer singled out Seravalli last week on Donnie and Dhali with several chirps aimed at the insider’s reporting on the Canucks. Not one to take these chirps lying down, the veteran reporter clapped back at Bublé while appearing on Friday’s edition of  The Big Show with Matt Rose and Brent Krahn Sportsnet 690 in Calgary.

The hosts opened the segment by asking Seravalli if he was a fan of Bublé, to which he fired back some shots of his own, slamming Elias Pettersson and even bringing up the singer’s child.

“I found it very odd,” said Seravalli. “I guess in the end I would expect nothing less of someone who has named one of his children after perhaps the NHL’s most overpaid player. He has one of his kids that’s partially named after Elias Pettersson, pretty odd.

“Don’t get caught up in the misdirection. What are Canucks fans talking about today? It’s that, and not the fact that their team has been a dumpster fire. Classic misdirection.”

Seravalli appeared to be talking about Bublé’s nine-year-old son, Elias, who was born in January 2016 — more than a year before the Canucks drafted Pettersson.

This unlikely feud was not on a lot of bingo sheets for Canucks fans this season. Canucks fans have become accustomed to the unexpected over the course of the last several seasons.

What’s next, a Bublé diss-track?
