Rabat – The Globe Soccer Awards announced their final shortlist for the Best Player in the World 2025, and Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi is included alongside global names such as Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, Vinícius Junior, Robert Lewandowski, Mohamed Salah, and Lamine Yamal.

Hakimi’s nomination comes after a remarkable year. With Paris Saint‑Germain, he played a decisive role in their historic campaign, helping the club win the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Trophée des Champions.

His attacking runs, defensive reliability, and ability to score in crucial matches made him one of PSG’s most consistent performers.

On the international stage, Hakimi continued to shine with Morocco. He was central to the team’s preparation for AFCON 2025, hosted in Morocco, and his leadership has been vital for the Atlas Lions.

His performances have elevated Moroccan football’s profile globally, making him one of the few African players to regularly compete for top international awards.

Hakimi’s recognition at Globe Soccer follows his success at the CAF Awards 2025, where he was crowned African Ballon d’Or winner, beating Mohamed Salah and Victor Osimhen.

He also ranked sixth in the France Football Ballon d’Or 2025, an exceptional achievement for a defender, as the award is usually dominated by attacking players.

Throughout his career, Hakimi has collected major trophies:

Two UEFA Champions League titles (with Real Madrid in 2018 and PSG in 2025)
Four Ligue 1 titles with PSG
Italian Serie A title with Inter Milan in 2021
African Player of the Year 2025

His Globe Soccer nomination is not only a personal milestone but also a proud moment for Moroccan and African football, showing that defenders can stand alongside the world’s biggest attacking stars.
