The likes of Victoria Mboko, Mirra Andreeva, and João Fonseca in 2025 have shown that even teens can make a name for themselves in tennis. From Martina Hingis to Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, who became No. 1 while still a teenager, legends of the game have often excelled in their teens.

Here’s a look at some of the teenage players who had a great 2025.

Iva Jović

Iva Jović had a season that could be a great stepping stone for the 17-year-old for future success on the tour. She won titles at the ITF level (Charlottesville) and at the Challenger level (Ilkley). Her biggest breakthrough came with her maiden WTA title in Guadalajara, where she defeated Emiliana Arango in the final.

Victoria Mboko

One of the most prominent teenage sensations on tour in 2025, Victoria Mboko was in red-hot form on the ITF Tour, winning five titles during the season, along with a runner-up finish at the Challenger event in Parma. The Canadian’s biggest success came at her home event, the Canadian Open, where the 19-year-old defeated Naomi Osaka in the final to clinch the WTA 1000 title. She ended the season on a high, winning a title in Hong Kong with a victory over Cristina Bucsa in the final.

Mirra Andreeva

Finishing the year as a Top-10 player, Mirra Andreeva had a year to remember. The Russian teenager was in tearaway form early in the season, winning back-to-back WTA 1000 titles in Dubai and Indian Wells, defeating the likes of Elena Rybakina, Iga Świątek, and Aryna Sabalenka to clinch those titles. She also had strong runs at the majors, reaching the quarterfinals at both the French Open and Wimbledon.

Learner Tien

Representing a new generation of American men’s tennis, Learner Tien was a surprise package for the 2025 season. The American teenager reached the fourth round at the Australian Open, including a win over former major champion Daniil Medvedev. He also defeated World No. 3 Alexander Zverev in Acapulco and reached two tour-level finals at Beijing and Metz. While he lost to Jannik Sinner in Beijing, he defeated Cameron Norrie at the Moselle Open to claim his maiden ATP title.

João Fonseca

João Fonseca has been touted as the next big thing in men’s tennis, as the Brazilian teen’s power and speed on the court have been impressive. He made headlines when he defeated a Top-10 opponent, Andrey Rublev, at his Grand Slam debut in Melbourne. Overall, he won two titles — Buenos Aires and Basel — in his first full year on tour, along with two Challenger titles in Canberra and Phoenix.

Jakub Menšík

Jakub Menšík showed his potential as the Czech teen won his maiden Masters 1000 title in Miami, including an impressive victory over Novak Djokovic in the final. His form dipped over the season, as he did not reach another semifinal on tour, though he recorded multiple quarterfinal finishes in Brisbane, Auckland, and Madrid, among other events.
