The Grey Cup Most Valuable Player is staying in Regina.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced the signing of quarterback Trevor Harris to a one-year extension on Thursday.

In Nov. 16’s 25-17 win over the Montreal Alouettes, the 39-year-old Harris threw for 302 yards on 27-for-32 passing. His 85.2 per-cent completion rate was the highest ever in a Grey Cup. The win was Harris’s third Grey Cup triumph.

A native of Waldo, OH, Harris will embark on a 15th CFL season and fourth with the Green Riders. Harris appeared in 17 regular season games in 2025, throwing for 4,549 yards on 348-for-473 passing with 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Harris was an undrafted free agent out of Div. II Edinboro College and made his CFL debut in 2012 with the Toronto Argonauts. He’s gone on to appear in 195 career games with the Argos, Ottawa Redblacks, Edmonton Elks, Alouettes and Roughriders.

His career passing total of 37,697 yards is 13th all-time. Harris is also ninth all-time in completions with 3,097 and his 204 career touchdowns are 15th most among CFL pivots.
