The conclusion of the third complete Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) season takes place this week in London, England, at Copper Box Arena. Founded in 2020, UTS has done a terrific job engaging with younger fans through an interactive, fast-paced format. Seventeen players competed across three UTS events in 2025. Eight have been invited to compete for a nearly two-million-dollar purse in London. But who will claim victory during the day session on Day 2?
Ultimate Tennis Showdown London Grand Final Day 2 Predictions
Tomas Machac vs Adrian Mannarino
Head-to-Head: Machac 0-2 Mannarino
After both men dropped their opening matches on Day 1, the loser of this battle is all but eliminated from the semifinals. Machac and Mannarino played tough in their defeats, and the Czech entered the Grand Final as the No. 1 seed. However, Mannarino’s tricky style has given Machac fits on the ATP Tour. I expect the Frenchman to pull the upset.
Prediction: Mannarino in four quarters
Casper Ruud vs David Goffin
Head-to-Head: first meeting
Casper Ruud is the No. 12-ranked player in the world, but he has taken a real liking to UTS events. You don’t have to worry about his level of effort on Saturday, as after a tough Day 1 loss, he will be up and ready on Day 2. Despite being the second-oldest competitor at the UTS Grand Final, David Goffin has had no problem embracing the new format. He lost on Day 1 to Ugo Humbert but looked competitive in defeat. Goffin will have his moments, but this is Ruud’s to lose.
Prediction: Ruud in three quarters
Ugo Humbert vs Francisco Cerundolo
Head-to-Head: Humbert 0-1 Cerundolo
Ugo Humbert handled business against David Goffin on Day 1 of the Grand Final. This is just the Frenchman’s second UTS event of 2025, but his lefty style has lent itself well to these quick battles. However, no one has a better handle on the UTS quirks than Francisco Cerundolo. The Argentine played great tennis on Day 1 and is still undefeated in his UTS career. This should be a fun battle featuring some high-level tennis. I give the slight edge to the player I believe is in better form.
Prediction: Cerundolo in sudden death
Alex de Minaur vs Andrey Rublev
Head-to-Head: de Minaur 4-4 Rublev
We have a blockbuster Day 2 encounter in a matchup that could ultimately decide the winner of Group A. Alex de Minaur was able to overcome a feisty Adrian Mannarino on Day 1, and Andrey “Rublo” Rublev downed No. 1 seed Tomas Machac. Although they play two different styles of tennis, both men have found success at UTS events. Ultimately, I will trust the Australian reigning champion in a tight battle.
Prediction: de Minaur in sudden death
