The Utah Mammoth will be without their leading goal scorer for some time.
Cooley appeared to be injured on Friday night against the Vancouver Canucks when he collided with goaltender Kevin Lankinen. He was a late scratch on Saturday against the Calgary Flames as the team announced he would be further evaluated when it got back to Utah.
Cooley has been an integral part of a Mammoth team that appears to be taking a step forward this season. The 21-year-old has 14 goals and 23 points in 29 games and averages 17:49 per contest, helping his team climb into the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
The Pittsburgh native was selected third overall by the Arizona Coyotes at the 2022 NHL Draft. He is in his third NHL season.
