The View cohosts slammed Donald Trump’s recent FIFA award as “fake” and “cringe.”Sunny Hostin thinks Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize “lives rent-free in Trump’s head.”Ana Navarro stood up and gave her cohosts fake medals as a jab at Trump.
The View cohosts apparently think Donald Trump is living in denial over his acceptance speech while receiving what former federal prosecutor and legal expert Sunny Hostin called a “fake award” from soccer organization FIFA.
The cohosts reacted Monday to Trump receiving the first “FIFA Peace Prize” from the group’s leader, Gianni Infantino, at a Friday ceremony, amid the political leader’s past suggestions that he should win the Nobel Peace Prize in the future.
“I think we all know that [Barack] Obama lives rent-free in Trump’s head, and he has for a really long time. I think the fact that President Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize is still living rent-free in this president’s mind, and he still wants the Nobel Peace Prize,” Hostin expressed. “I don’t think he’s going to get the Nobel Peace Prize, I don’t think he’s worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize, quite frankly. This is a made-up award for him, this FIFA award.”
Hostin pointed out “corruption scandals” and past scandals involving FIFA and racketeering allegations, as well as alleged bribery revolving around World Cup host cities.

“This seems very much like a pay-for-play situation for me, as a former prosecutor, and I think we need to look at that,” finished Hostin. “If people can just buy this president by giving him a fake award, what else is happening that we don’t know about?”
Republican panelist Ana Navarro added that, “at a time when he is banning people from different countries from being able to get into the United States, FIFA needs people from all over the world who come and see the World Cup games, to be able to get U.S. visas.”
Her words come as North American nations prepare to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup soccer event from June-July of next year.
Navarro further alleged that, “FIFA needs Trump not to send ICE to conduct raids and intimidate people who go to these games like he’s threatening to do with the Super Bowl because they have Bad Bunny singing in the halftime show.”
Navarro continued, joking that, “If you show up with a tchotchke, preferably covered in gold, and give that to the three-year-old in the Oval Office, he will be entertained and he will be happy.”
The CNN commentator then stood up from the Hot Topics table to reveal that she had fake medals in her pocket, and distributed them to each of her cohosts on the air.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, who previously worked with Donald Trump at the White House before resigning from his administration, said that the award “just feels so cringe to me,” and said Trump is “focused on his legacy” so that the “history books can’t dismiss him as a fluke” for not following through on what she said were many unfulfilled promises made during his 2024 presidential campaign.
“He wants his own monument in Washington, D.C. He’s putting his name on different things throughout the capital, and I think he’s had a heavy focus on the world stage,” Griffin continued, before commending him on a recent deal in the Middle East. “What I keep hearing from his voters, people who count themselves as America-first voters, it seems like he’s more distracted by what’s happening around the world and not delivering back home, and that’s what will mark his legacy.”

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for the White House and FIFA for comment.
The White House previously issued an exclusive statement to EW after another View cohost, Joy Behar, also invoked Obama’s name in a criticism of Trump, when she alleged that the current president was “jealous of Obama” for his looks and because he’s “happily married” to Michelle Obama.

“Joy Behar is an irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” a White House spokesperson said at the time.
