It was only a matter of time until some of the biggest stars in sports media had their lives intersect with the world’s biggest pop star. And thankfully, our beloved sports media stars decided to share their thoughts about the moment on their podcast.

Over the weekend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce set the internet ablaze with an Instagram photo dump featuring him and his girlfriend, the zillion-time platinum award winning artist Taylor Swift. And among the pictures were two prominent NFL reporters: Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson.

The duo, which host the Calm Down with Erin and Charissa podcast together, shared their experience vacationing with the Swift-Kelce power couple during the latest episode.

“She’s everything that I’d ever hoped and dreamed that she could’ve been and more,” Thompson said. “For those of you that have listened to this podcast for the five years we’ve had it, you know our great affinity for Taylor, and this was pre-Travis. We obviously went on this podcast and advocated for her to give him a chance. That clearly worked out and they are so happy and adorable and all things. So when the opportunity came about for all of us to spend time together and go on vacation, we were elated to have time with them, but also, just in general, see what she was all about. She’s everything and more. Their lives are so public, so it was very important for Erin and I to not say anything, not because we don’t like to share stuff with you, but it’s important for us to let them dictate the narrative on things they do in their personal life. …She’s a dream and I adore her and I’m so happy that they make each other happy.”

“We’re so protective of them and their privacy and what they deserve,” Andrews chimed in. “So that’s why we never said anything or never planned on saying anything. …No joke, that’s one of my favorite photos from the trip we all took together. So, yeah, I’ll echo it. She’s a 20 out of 20. She just is. She is so much fun. And I will say this, our group, the six of us, we had some fun. Wow. A time. A good good group. We love them. We are happy for them. And now we are happy to report back that the long-awaited meeting did, in fact, happen and it exceeded expectations because she is as advertised and a whole lot more.”

Props to Andrews and Thompson, there’s probably not too many people in this world who could keep vacationing with Taylor Swift a secret for more than two seconds. I suppose that’s why they were invited in the first place.

We’ll let the ethical journalism dilemma slide on this one. When you have an opportunity to go on a vacation with Taylor Swift, you go on that vacation, ethics be damned. And let’s be honest, other than Thompson’s one high-profile snafu, these two have a long track record of professionalism when it comes to their jobs.

By the sounds of things, this might be the first of many vacations this crew takes together!
