The NWT government’s wildlife officers are warning Fort Smith residents to take care following recent “reports of wolves in the community.”
The announcement was posted online and issued to Cabin Radio late on Thursday afternoon.
The Department of Environment and Climate Change told residents to keep pets on a leash, travel in groups where possible and avoid leaving food outdoors.
If you see a wolf, ECC said, call the Fort Smith wildlife emergency line at 867-872-0400 “so we can keep track of the situation.”
