Former world heavyweight boxing champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have agreed to fight in 2026, according to a sports publication that did not cite specific sources to confirm.
According to the media, the bout is expected as part of a boxing night planned in Riyadh, and both boxers have already agreed to participate in 2026. Before that, they will allegedly stage another bout in Saudi Arabia.
It is also known that Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul, scheduled for December 19 in Miami; the bout will last no more than eight rounds.
Joshua will return to the ring for the first time since September 2024, when he lost to Daniel Dubois. Both boxers had previously been world champions in the heavyweight division and had faced Oleksandr Usyk twice, losing: Joshua lost the WBA, WBO and IBF belts, while Fury lost the WBC title, which allowed Usyk to become the undisputed world champion.
Outlook for big fights in 2026
If events unfold as planned, the Riyadh bout could become the centerpiece of a major boxing night, continuing the history of duels between former champions. We should also await official announcements regarding a possible Joshua vs. Jake Paul fight, which would add momentum to both fighters’ upcoming schedules.
