Fleetwood Mac’s discography is packed with instantly recognizable hits, including some of the most popular in the pop-rock space of the last half-century. Longtime fans are also in love with countless other tunes in the group’s catalog — ones that never became smashes, but which many listeners would argue deserve that honor.
One such Fleetwood Mac classic is “Silver Springs,” which was relegated to B-side status when it was first released, though throughout the decades it has become a fan favorite. Thanks to a growing TikTok trend, “Silver Springs” has been surging in consumption globally for several weeks now.
The decades-old tune debuts on multiple Billboard charts in America this week, and manages to climb on one additional list, as even years after stopping writing and recording, Fleetwood Mac still manages to regularly collect new hits in America.
“Silver Springs” Debuts on Several Billboard Charts
“Silver Springs” debuts on a pair of Billboard-published rosters this frame, both of which are focused on general consumption, as opposed to strictly sales, streams, or airplay. “Silver Springs” opens at No. 16 on the Hot Rock Songs chart and one spot lower on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs ranking.
How Many Hits Has Fleetwood Mac Charted?
As “Silver Springs” debuts, Fleetwood Mac adds a seventh appearance on both the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs charts. Unsurprisingly, the group’s performance on the two related tallies is very similar.
Fleetwood Mac has claimed just two top 10 hits throughout the years. “Dreams” and “The Chain” have both cracked the uppermost arena, with the former stalling one rung shy of becoming a No. 1 hit half a decade ago thanks to another moment of virality.

It has been just over three years since Fleetwood Mac claimed a new hit on either of the aforementioned rock charts. Before “Silver Springs,” “Everywhere” stood as the group’s most recent debut, as that track launched on both tallies in October 2022.
“Silver Springs” Becomes Another Top 10 Smash for Fleetwood Mac
Last week, “Silver Springs” launched on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, and this time around, the cut improves and hits a brand new high point. “Silver Springs” opened at No. 14, but now it ranks as the fourth bestselling rock track in America.
Fleetwood Mac has collected seven top 10 on the list of the bestselling rock songs throughout the nation out of 16 total appearances. Coincidentally, as “Silver Springs” vaults to fourth place, it becomes Fleetwood Mac’s fourth-highest-peaking smash on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart.
Last period, the decades-old tune was tied with “Rhiannon (Will You Ever Win?),” and in just one frame it has leapt over “Go Your Own Way,” “Gypsy,” “Songbird,” and “Landslide.” Only “Dreams” and “Everywhere,” which both ruled for at least a month, as well as “The Chain,” have climbed to loftier spots.
TikTok Trend Pushes “Silver Springs” to the Billboard Charts
“Silver Springs” benefits from a TikTok trend that sees the Fleetwood Mac classic going viral on the social media app. An audio recording that mashes up “Silver Springs” with “Piano Man” by Billy Joel has been used by posters to highlight something meaningful in their past that changed their lives. Even Fleetwood Mac member Lindsey Buckingham got in on the fun and took part in the trend.
Live 1975 Becomes Fleetwood Mac’s Latest Bestselling Album
As “Silver Springs” debuts on a pair of Billboard charts, Fleetwood Mac also scores a brand new bestselling project. Live 1975, which was re-released on vinyl as part of Record Store Day’s Black Friday event, launches on the Top Album Sales chart at No. 47. The Grammy-winning group has now scored a milestone 20 bestsellers in America.
