After axing its KIIS Brisbane breakfast team in favour of Craig ‘Lowie’ Low for 2026, ARN has reversed that decision, announcing that Robin, Kip and Corey will be returning to the breakfast slot next year after all.

Low will now host a nightly show from 9pm across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth.

A press release from ARN claims this comes “after feedback from Brisbane listeners”, noting the breakfast team’s popularity has been “reinforced by strong audience engagement and recent survey results”. It paints it as a win for Low, too, who is being given “a national platform to connect with listeners across multiple major markets.”

This about-turn follows Monday’s announcement that Nine veteran Kerri Elstub will become chief content officer at ARN, while Dave Cameron will join as director of content for ARN’s metro radio stations. ARN’s chief audience and content officer Lauren Joyce was made redundant in late November.

Robin Bailey, Kip Wightman and Corey Oates pulled 11.2% of the breakfast audience in the most recent radio survey, placing them fourth in their timeslot, behind Nova, Triple M, and B105.

Bailey blasted ARN after the trio were initially axed, saying “our industry care more about money than connection.”

Derek ‘DB’ Bargwanna, head of KIIS, said: “Brisbane listeners were clear about what they wanted, and we listened. Robin, Kip & Corey have a strong connection with this city, and the way things wrapped up meant the door was always open for us to reunite. We’re thrilled to welcome them back to breakfast in 2026.”

Low said he is “stoked that Brissy gets its favourite breakfast show back – and I can’t wait to create and connect with listeners nationwide across nights on the KIIS network.”

Both shows will launch on January 19.

Earlier this month, Ash Bradnam was fired from Nova 106.9 Brisbane’s top-rating breakfast show Ash, Luttsy & Nikki, after 20 years at the network.

He claimed that Nova management told him the decision was because “Kyle and Jackie are coming into the Brisbane market next year, and they’re going to take the [Nova] show in a different direction, and that I wouldn’t be a part of it.”
