The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced on Tuesday that the team signed American wide receiver Malik Knowles.

Knowles, 25, has spent the past three seasons in the National Football League, seeing practice squad stints with the Minnesota Vikings (2023-24), Green Bay Packers (2024) and San Francisco 49ers (2025).

The former Kansas State wide receiver was not elevated to an active roster in any of his three seasons in the NFL.

Prior to joining the Vikings as an undrafted free agent, Knowles – who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs in at 196 pounds – played an impressive four-year career at Kansas State.

He caught 127 passes for 1,867 yards and 14 touchdowns, added 36 rushes for 440 yards with four touchdowns and returned 61 kickoffs for 1,691 yards with another three touchdowns.

He was twice named Second Team All-American and was named All-Big 12 twice.

The Roughriders are coming off a triumphant season in which they defeated the Montreal Alouettes 25-17 in the 112th Grey Cup.
