For the 2026 season, Prime Video is back on the No. 9 car with Chase Elliott. The new paint scheme is a twist on this year’s design. Elliott added Prime this season as the streamer became a major media and broadcast partner of the NASCAR Cup Series.

Last season, the Prime Video car was nice. I liked the mostly all-blue design. It was easy to see on the track and not in an eyesore kind of way. The major issue was the fact that it looked like Denny Hamlin’s Progressive Insurance Toyota.

In 2026, Chase Elliott and Prime are taking things in a different direction. This will help make it look different from the Progressive car. Touches of black and other colors throughout the scheme give it more depth.

New look. Full throttle. Chase Elliott’s fresh paint scheme for 2026 is officially here and it’s built for speed. 👀

While Chase Elliott is known for being the NAPA Auto Parts driver, he has a few other sponsors that pop up throughout the year. The Prime Video car will be used to promote the schedule of races that the streamer will carry next season. It makes sense that we will see it towards the end of the FOX slate.

Elliott is coming off a two-win season in 2025. His move to win at Kansas late in the season was absolutely stunning. The way the team responded to adversity shows that they are able to come together and perform when it matters most. Alan Gustafson, despite a lot of criticism, is a good crew chief who can get wins for this team.

Chase Elliott remained consistent in 2025

In the last two seasons, Chase Elliott has only finished outside of the top-20 on eight occasions. If you take out the races where he had a DNF, it is only three times outside the top-20. That is out of a total of 72 races in the last two years. Impressive, no doubt.

Hendrick Motorsports clearly has two championship contenders in Kyle Larson and William Byron. There is no denying that. Elliott is a champion. I mean, he literally has the trophy to prove it. But his performance has not been on the same level as the 5 and 24 cars in the last few years. A lot of that has to do with the leg injury in 2023, and some of it has to do with the Next Gen car.

In the 2026 season, Chase Elliott will be a driver that everyone has their eyes on. Everyone, fans and haters, are looking to see just how far this 9 team can go. Is it absurd to say three wins is the bare minimum for this team to have a truly “successful” season? I’m not so sure that it is.
