The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Canadian offensive lineman Dayton Black.

The six-foot-six, 295-pound blocker was selected by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats with the sixth overall pick in the 2023 CFL Draft. He dressed for 17 regular-season games as a rookie and made one start at right guard.

Black spent most of the 2024 season on Hamilton’s six-game injured list before being demoted to the practice roster. He participated in training camp with the team in 2025 but was released prior to its conclusion.

The 26-year-old signed with the Ottawa Redblacks in June and dressed for five regular-season games before being moved to the practice roster. He was released in August.

The native of Brandon, Man. played collegiately at the University of Saskatchewan where he was named a Canada West all-star in 2022.

The Roughriders have also signed American defensive lineman Devin Adams.

The six-foot-two, 285-pound defender spent the last two years with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, recording 25 defensive tackles, six sacks, and one special teams tackle over 24 regular-season games.

The 27-year-old native of Miramar, Fla. played collegiately at Peru State, where he made 156 total tackles, 59 tackles for loss, 21 sacks, five pass knockdowns, and two forced fumbles. He also punted 131 times for an average of 39.9 yards per attempt. He was twice named first-team All-Conference as a defensive lineman and punter.

Adams finished the 2025 season on Winnipeg’s practice roster, making him immediately eligible to sign with any CFL teams.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders finished first in the West Division standings in 2025 with a 12-6 record, finishing first in the West Division for the first time since 2019. The team went on to defeat the Montreal Alouettes in the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg, marking the team’s first championship in 12 years. Trevor Harris went 11-5 as a starter, throwing for 4,549 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

The Roughriders ranked second in net offence, second in net defence, and tied for third with a turnover differential of plus-eight. The club’s leading rusher was A.J. Ouellette with 1,222 yards, leading receiver was KeeSean Johnson with 1,159 yards, and leading tackler was A.J. Allen with 91 tackles. Saskatchewan finished second in attendance with average crowds of 28,427, which was a 2.7 percent increase from the previous year.
